Special Dividends Likely In 2010

Don’t be surprised if you see a number of companies issue special dividends to shareholders before the end of this year.


That’s because it appears that the preferential tax rate on qualified dividends (currently a maximum 15%) is set to expire at the end of this year, and all signs indicate that the rate won’t be extended by the current administration in the White House.
